Our Founder

Jessica Scardino, BCBA

With a career spanning over a decade in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA), Jessica has continually worked not only to expand her own knowledge and experience, but also to remain engaged as an advocate and mentor for her clients, her colleagues, and the science of behavior analysis.

Jessica started her ABA career in 2011 as a behavior technician in the state of Hawaii. She fell in love with the science and its incredible positive impact on the lives of the clients she served. She advanced into many positions in leadership, from a peer mentor using side-by-side coaching with fellow technicians to supervising socialization groups in a clinic-based setting. She relocated to California as part of her husband’s continued military service. There, she utilized her knowledge and experience to start from the ground up a clinic-based intervention and create peer socialization groups in her California-based clinic. In 2015, Jessica became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and went on to hone her leadership skills as she moved from a mid-level to a high-level supervisor, providing supervision and consultation to mid-level supervisors as they provided case supervision. She also began providing individual and group supervision to candidates working toward national certification.

In 2017, Jessica and her family embarked on their final military move to the state of Florida. She was promoted into a higher leadership role and eventually accepted a position as a Clinical Director, which afforded her the opportunity to gain extensive executive leadership experience and insight into the operational side of the ABA field. Moving forward with Behavior Gains, Jessica has continued her remarkable experience and knowledge to fulfill the company’s mission to lead the field of ABA in superior clinical quality and continuously enhance the standards of practice to fulfill the needs of the individuals we serve. Jessica holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chaminade University of Honolulu, two Bachelor of Science degrees (Business Administration & Psychology) from Old Dominion University, and completed her BCBA coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis at Capella University. She and her husband are licensed foster parents and strong advocates for the foster care community. Jessica has also been a strong advocate for animals for well over 15 years, having worked in the veterinary field prior to her career in ABA and continuing to volunteer in animal shelters since then. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets (2 dogs and 6 chickens). She also enjoys working in her garden, where she enjoys growing a variety of fruits and vegetables.
